Eating Primal at Machos Tacos

Sometimes eating primal has it’s issues, and one of them, is the delicious burritos I get to eat in Hollywood, CA at Machos Tacos. They have a very delicious carne asada burrito wrapped in guacamole, rice, beans, and a very fresh flour tortilla. Before I turned primal, I always enjoyed eating their burrito but now I have an issue with the flour, rice, and beans. It’s a major issue since I miss out on the deliciousness of the burrito but I have to remain primal as best as I can.
Therefore, I cheat the primal diet. I can ignore the rice and beans. I don’t feel any better, and I actually do feel worse after eating rice and beans. You get that sickly full feeling and you just don’t want to do anything afterwards. I also found at the same way I’ve been able to enjoy the carne asada burrito so it actually tastes better than before! I’ve been using this technique ever since I learned it and my burritos taste excellent. It’s not fully primal so I can’t vouch for everyone to do it but I suggest you try it if you enjoy your burritos.
First, the burrito will still have some flour. If you have already started in a fat-burning system, then it should not be too much of an issue. Your body will continue to burn from the fats even though it will have a little extra glycogen from the flour. This state is called Ketosis and if you already eat primal it will continue to be burning fat for energy. For those starting primal, I would suggest throwing the tortilla away (it’s tough at the beginning).
How does this become primal?
Tell the person that you are ordering from to substitute the rice and beans for more meat and vegetables. That’s right, you get more good stuff for the stuff that’s bad for you anyways. Also, ask for extra guacamole. Doesn’t that sound so delicious already? You are getting more healthy fats and it’s becoming more primal at the same time.
That’s it! I don’t get rid of that fresh flour tortilla. As bad as it is for me, it taste great but I’ve gotten rid of the rice and beans and I get some extra fat from the guacamole.
Enjoy your burrito!
